PS: Everything mentioned in this post is told by a farmer I met in wayanad.

Ok, this is not one of those great wild life captures. Standing in a farmer’s land who got cheated by some white collar bastards in Bangalore I couldn’t find a better photo for this post. The only crime he did was to try to send her daughter to BSc Nursing in Bangalore. He took loan for 1.5 lakhs, now papers of all his 5 acres of land is with some bank. His friend and owner of Or*ent Found*tion, a consulting firm or so in Majestic, Bangalore helped him to get a seat in a Nursing college in Hoskot, Bangalore (They have a Medical college at the same place and an engineering college near Electronics city). The girl has joined for the course, started going for classes, now one morning they said the whole 1.5 lakhs they paid is towards tution fee and they have to find 20 thounsand towards something else and sent her out of the college with other 27 students. Some of the students got admitted back after their parents signed some document which says their childern are allowed to attend the classes since they agreed to pay the remainng fees. But the funniest thing is that the receipt never mentioned how much money they have to pay. Now this particular girl couldn’t find the additional 20 thousand and she came back to her home. Now for last one year she is staying there. She has completed his Plus two course and their parents are not able to send her for any other course since they are left with nothing. The remaining 27 students also got sent back on various reasons and now most of them will be in the same situation. (if they are alive)

Now is there anything any of us can do ? (other than sympathizing).

I will be going to back to their place in August, if anyone can help them in anyway, do comment here. Please

I had talked to the farmer for a long time. To my surprize he sounded least worried about being cheated, his ginger plants which got ruined recently or the land he is about to loose. I could find a chilling smile and hope on his face.

Yes, I am sure that he knows which poison will kill him and his family efficienly and he is damn sure about the destiny of those who cheated him. Hell.

(‘*’ is to be replaced with ‘o’ – its just a trick to fool the filters)

Met these childern on my last wayanad trip. When they saw me they started running, I managed to take the camera, put it in Auto mode and click. One of the shots is posted above.

Later I found out who these childern were. Their mother was/is an Adiyathi (tribal people of Wayanad). But she is outcasted from her house and colony because of this children and now she lives in a small hut, probaly in goverment owned land. She is just another unmarried adiyathi mother. Just one another wh*re or thevidissias others who molested her address her. There are hundreds of such cases in various parts of wayanad.

Today, I am going to Wayanad again.

Fish Rain

Today morning, The malayam daily Deepika reported about an intresting phenomenon. In some parts of kerala, fishes are falling down from sky. (along with rain drops) !!

Report is here

But as pointed out by a friend, there is always a scientific explanation for everything. here

Well this was the a comment made by a someone on the Motor cylce Rally Organized by Bangalore City Police with theSlogan “Wear Helmet For your Safety.”

In a way its funny isn’t it ? Its upto the rider to drive rashly, get killed and leave his/her family at the mercy of fate.

Choice is the Rider’s.

But its always better to wear a Helmet.

Will it Help ?

I received the following e-mail forward sometime back.

Dear Terrorist,

Even if you are not reading this we don’t care. Time and again you tried to disturb us and disrupt our life – killing innocent civilians by planting bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful. Do you know how we pass our life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee? If you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt. employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you like). We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last few occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a single day killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went to work next day in full strength. This time we cleared everything within a few hours and were back to normal – the vendors placing their next order, businessmen finalizing the next deals and the office workers rushing to catch the next train. (Yes the same train you targetted)Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification that blood banks were full and they didn’t require any more blood. The next day, attendance at schools and office was close to 100%, trains & buses were packed to the brim, the crowds were back. The city has simply dusted itself off and moved one – perhaps with greater vigour. We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like this. So, do not dare to threaten us with your crackers. The spirit of Mumbai is very strong and can not be harmed. Please forward this to others. U never know, by chance it may come to hands of a terrorist in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq and he can then read this message which is specially meant for him!!!

With Love,

From the people of Mumbai (Bombay)

Of hundreds of friends I have,
this guy is special.
When no one can help, no one can support
When in trouble, he appears out of thin air
Does his job in split of a second and
Alas, he is gone.
Once again, I am free. fearless
And I don’t need him anymore.

One of the stories about him and a warrior
goes like this ..
The hero who has fought so many wars,
turns around and checks his footsteps.
To his surprise, he finds a pair of footsteps
always following him and at times the footsteps
are beside his own foot steps. Yes, Its the footsteps
of the unseen friend whose presene he had always felt.
Then, he finds that at times when he was in trouble,
There is only his foot steps.
But then he realizes, those were not his.
Those deep footsteps were caused by someone
carrying an heavy object and who appears struggling
to walk.
It was the unseen friend carrying the warrior and
struggling all the way.

And when we check our foot steps,
what is that we are going to see ? Only a pair ?

Kurishu Palli : Friday’s Magic

This small church is Kozhokode / Calicut seems to be enjoying the large number of visitors it has. With an ever growing Stone idol the church attracts devotees belonging to all religions. The “9 Friday Magic Rule” which is applicable to many of the chruches works here also.

But then there was a school boy who wanted to have a bicycle and visited the church on 9 consecutive fridays or more. And right now he is writing the blog and he never owned a bicycle.
