(Taken on the way to chembra peak, wayanad. The whole area was burned due to wild fire and it was nice to see this small lonely flower in the the ashes. It reminded me of few people I have met in my life. People who gives encouragement and hope … let me dedicate this photo to all those wonderful people.)

Hope can set you free !

For those who are not able to read malayalam:

I had visited kudiyanmala area of kannur in 2006 November.
I found a number of such concrete or wooden crosses in areas
like maavumchal, kottayamtattu, palathadam thattu etc.Upon
enquiring the localities told me that those crosses are to
frighten the ghost of janu. She was gang raped and killed in
that area. She was tortured and killed and after death her soul
is being tortured by the symbol of the man who sacrificed his life
for the entire human race ! That’s quite Funny isn’t it ?

Route from Bangalore: Take Mysore Highway, from Maddur take diversion towards Malavalli. From Malavalli take right turn and go straight. Thats it. Talakkad is 27 kms from Somanathpur.

Thanks to the great friends who were with me for the trip. So Where are we going next week ?

Last weekend we ended up in a Talakkad. I must say that it is a mysterious place with Sand dunes and beautiful temples.

Siva Temple, Talakkad.

The festival in this temple is observed once in 12 years. This year the festival is being celebrated and it starts on November 20th 2006. (Well, the festival falls on the same year when Neela Kurinji blooms in Munnar !)
